Hey everyone! I'm fatfreecupcake! I'm new to the community and to LiveJournal itself (aside from my angsty thirteen year old journal abandoned so many, many years ago). I've got eleven weeks to get a bikini body for a vacation to Florida with my boyfriend, and decided LiveJournal was the place to keep a journal. I can stay motivated by posting an entry every day, make some friends to encourage and be encouraged by, and really make this weight-loss thing work this time. I've got a ton of knowledge about nutrition and working out and weight loss in general, but no one to share them with, so pleeaase don't be shy, feel free to read my journal as it makes progress and gives out new hints (I'm hoping for a new mini-rant/lesson/tip every day along with a workout log and goals), and absolutely comment on them!
Here's the skinny,
I'm a 20 year old female, full-time college student, part-time minimum-wage worker who really, really, reaaallyy wants to look good for a vacation (and preferably the rest of my life). Obviously, I don't have a ton of money, so grocery shopping isn't easy (my mom and step dad don't seem to know what grocery shopping means) and it can be hard to find time to work out...But I always make time for it and save money for the groceries!
I started this journal for myself, to keep track of my own progress, but decided it would be much better to just share with others and help motivate each other and make it easier on everyone.
Which is where any or all of you come in!
I want people to read my journal, as it will motivate me to post entries more (no point in spending a half an hour every day typing something no one will read). My entries will be a way for me to track my progress as well as share information and tips I have on weight loss and healthy living, which I'm hoping some of you will enjoy reading and even make use of in your life (once I get some up there :D)
So please don't be shy and comment, add me as a friend, message me, do whatever you like. I'm a very open person and am looking forward to making progress with you! :]

At 27 yrs old I have 15 more pounds to lose in order to beat my bf to the 30 pound goal at we started in February. I have already lost 45lbs, but that has been since May of 2008. I love talking about recipes and new ideas of eating healthy, and my friends IRL are a little overwhelmed by my eating habits (not exactly traditional). Always looking to increase my knowledge and keep life interesting, I hope to learn a lot here.

BLUEBERRIES: This fruit is packed with antioxidants and unique bacteria fighting properties that help to prevent disease and even improve balance and coordination over time. I eat blueberries at any time of the day in my yogurt, cereal and even my deserts.
OATMEAL: This super food will leave you satisfied. Giving you energy for exercise and even helping lower your cholesterol. Oatmeal has always been a breakfast staple of mine. I eat it a couple of times a week!
NUTS: Nuts help fight cancer and heat disease, reduce cholesterol, and serve as a satisfying snack. I eat a handful a day because they are a great source of protein!
GREEN TEA: This soothing brew is filled with antioxidants that help prevent various cancers and help you burn calories at an accelerated rate! I like to drink green tea in the afternoon, since it’s naturally lower in caffeine.
SPINACH/KALE: Spinach and other leafy greens like kale are packed with calcium, cancer-fighting beat-carotene, and vitamin C. I'm a big believer in spinach because it's so easy to sneak into any meal! I especially like spinach salad and spinach omelets.
BEANS: beans reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. They're also low in fat, curb your appetite, and contain iron, fiber, and protein which give you energy. I usually add beans to my salsa and I love snacking on hummus!
STRAWBERRIES: Strawberries are great source of fiber and are packed with vitamin C and potassium, which helps regulate electrolytes in your body.
CARROTS: carrots are filled with vitamin A and antioxidants, helping to prevent cardiovascular disease and protect vision. They are a great addition to my soups, salads and even spaghetti sauce.
FISH: This power protein is swimming with omega-3 fatty acids, which help prevent heart disease and may also provide relief for menstrual cramps, migraine headaches and rheumatoid arthritis. I make sure to eat fish twice a week!
FLAXSEED: When flaxseed is broken down, it unleashes health benefits such as the prevention of heart disease, and keeps your eyes, your brain, and your reproductive system healthy. I enjoy sprinkled on my oatmeal and yogurt.
TOMATOES: Tomatoes contain vitamin K, which helps to keep your bones strong, and lycopene, which has antioxidant and cancer-fighting properties. I like tomatoes because you can integrate them into any meal of the day!
POTATOES: Potatoes are a good source of vitamin C, and they contain even more potassium than bananas. They're also high in fiber and protein and only have 110 calories. Keep it healthy by choosing low-calorie toppings. We love eating baked potatoes with salsa a couple times a week.

I am married, no kids. I have been with my husband for the past 7 years married 3 years. Ever since I met my husband 7 years ago I have gained about 100-80 pounds (well we both have), not good I know. I have done many diets and they will work for a bit and then I will just gain it all back. I decided to do this on my own about 3 months ago and just watch what I eat without depriving myself of everything I liked (this way I won’t fall off track) and it has work. Slowly but surely....
My husband and I started with our personal trainer last Monday. I feel amazing and even more motivated now. In the past week and a half I have shed inches like crazy but not weight yet. I’m just ere looking for support buddies feel free to add me. Thanks!

Oh! I just started the 14-day treatment for the H. pylori eradication. Oh man, it is killing my stomach. Generally, my stomach is sensitive. I've had two bleeding ulcers already and have general gastric upset. The treatment is 30mg of prevacid, 500mg of clarithromycin and 1,000mg of amoxicillin, all twice daily. To say the least, my stomach is in uproar. Anyway, this will pass and I should be feeling better soon. :-)
i was on what my doctor called the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) diet for the first month or so, and now i'm just quickly losing a lot of weight.
sounds great right? but i used to be 200+ lbs and the weight is coming off fairly quickly.
is it certain that my skin is going to drip off my body? i've heard that, even with surgery to fix that.. you'd need it everywhere and you'll still look weird.
so i should be happy but i feel really anxious and hopeless
Does anyone have any helpful habits that help them with their goals?
